One of the things I love most about the photography business is that every day is so different. One day you are shooting a portrait, the next a dog, or some jewelry, or a product shoot and sometimes even a hockey game.

I got a call to shoot the FCIAC State Final game at “The Whale” in New Haven. No pressure!  I never photographed a hockey game before so I was like, yes!!! I will do it!! I was so excited to shoot, but the longest lens I had was a 24-105mm. One of my closest friends has a 70-200mm f.2 so I called him up and he said of course I can use it. Thank god for nice friends. For years he had this lens, and I always wanted to try it out. Now  was my opportunity. After getting a sense of where to position myself ( thanks youtube and the photographers from sports illustrated ) and a few pointers, I was ready to fire!  I hope you enjoy these hockey images, I really enjoyed the game and the fast action. It is a beautiful game to photograph and there is always excitement on the ice. Not bad for a first time right?

Riley and Tyler had their Mitzvah at Temple Israel and the reception following at The Westport Inn. We first photographed them in our studio on South Compo Rd. I always enjoy the studio shoots because it is fun to see their reactions as the images show up on the computer. I shoot tethered in the studio and many times on location.

White Birch Paper hired me to photograph their executives for their website and for promotional uses. They sent me a sample of a portrait of the CEO and asked if I could shoot similar to the image provided. I was very excited to see the image they provided me with was photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, my favorite photographer of all time and my biggest inspiration.
