I was asked to photograph the 20th annual Fairfield County Heart Walk at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. My father had a heart attack at the age of 47 and survived. So I felt like an alumni of some sorts. The SLOBS ( Service League of Boys) was one group of many volunteers lending a hand. The Stamford Hospital had a mobile bus capable of screening patients for heart disease, breast cancer and ultra sounds. There was face painting, cheerleaders, food and CPR training. My friend Doc was there, he survived a heart attack this summer. Click here for that story on Westportnow. The Sacred Heart University Kappa Kappa Psi Band and Brien McMahon High School cheerleaders provided music and motivation to the walkers, what a fabulous turnout. It is always tough to shoot at the beach. The sun, reflections and wind can really through you off.
