I got the call to photograph the first annual project return luncheon, it was a real huge turnout. Project return provides a safe, structured and a nurturing environment for adolescent girls and young women  in crisis. The idea of the luncheon was to raise money by having a ” gather round the table”. It included over 20 local designers showcasing their talent by creating unique tablescapes where over 300 guests would vote for their favorites. At the end of the luncheon the votes would be tallied and the actual tabletops would be raffled off. The setting was The Patterson Club which was just an awesome place to be, they do a wonderful job making everyone feel at home. Click here to see a slideshow and more pictures from this wonderful event. I really enjoy shooting fundraisers. I have over 20 years of experience shooting and the best compliment I got was” you look like you know what your doing.” Funny.

You know what I love most? It is watching people having a good time and getting it on film. Dana and Joe were married at Roton Point, and what a gorgeous day they had! Roton Point is really awesome. It is located  between Norwalk and Rowayton. A really beautiful spot on top of a hill overlooking Long Island Sound. Outdoor Cookers provided the awesome food and the energy was really huge!!! Dana and Joe enjoyed a night with friends dining and dancing.

My sister and her family visited from Irvine California and we had to take our two families to The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The trip was very special because this would be our first time seeing our parents names on the Ellis Island Wall. It is a wall of names of immigrants and it “celebrates the peopling of America.” My parents came to The United States in 1953 from The Netherlands. It was a somber yet enlightening day seeing my parents names and The Freedom Tower. the kids took a ranger quiz and were sworn in as Liberty Island park Rangers. We ended the day by running through an elaborate sprinkler system in Battery Park. It is such a nice day trip and the walk along the pier is wonderful. Excellent sights and a real nice path.
